Community SWEEP is eager to work with Ugandan and African local and regional partners in a variety of ways. Some local and regional organizations have unique talents and specialties that are best suited to the country contexts, and we are therefore eager to engage with these partners for their expertise and understanding of the local challenges. .

We also aspire to work with local and regional partners to enhance their capacity and build their technical skills in order to improve their ability to operate independently and support change long after Community SWEEP ’s programs have ended. Finally, Community SWEEP believes in achievement of multiple results ,and impacts via integrated sustainable solutions and will often transition our activities to local organizations at the end of a project in order to continue building on and increasing impact and improvements to local community delivery systems.

COmmunity SWEEP is also eager to partner with small business enterprises whenever possible, through maintenance of an in-house vendor list to promote the development of these relationships. In light of contributing to the realization of UN Goals in the Africa Context, In the next five years Community SWEEP needs funding to a tune US dollars five hundred (US$500,000) annually for its Social Enterprenuaship fund annually, to identify 1000-3000 youth entrepreneurs in Uganda twice each year via its SWEET Africa Programme . About 50%-60% of these entrepreneurs will form relationships with experienced academicians, and mentors, and develop business proposals. About 10-20% of potential applicants will pitch their ventures in two separate selected Uganda regions twice a year to compete for seed grants (US$100-US$200) so that they can scale-up to meet the needs of at least 1,000-2,000 Uganda Youth SWEEPrenuars starters- willing and having the drive to start Small .

To this end, The Community SWEEP aims at the formation of several categories of social entrepreneurs (SWEEPreneurs) whether youth, couples (Co-Afripreneurs) , family, business, community-based and faith Based Organizations, retired professions, specialized professions, Diaspora Afripreneurs and other categories, to contribute to realization of the Community SWEEP Programme Vision, Mission and Goal.

The applicant’s ideas must support; 1) the Community SWEEP mission (contributing to more than 25% of UN interconnected goals); 2) the Community SWEEP approach of integrated–service delivery and; 3) demonstrate innovation, objectivity, substantial cost share, measurable results, sustainability of impact, and growth potential.

Important dates and Cost– Typically, information to apply for this program will be announced in March and October with applications submission datelines in June and December respectively. There will be no application fee.

Uganda Community SWEEP seeks to support promising impact evaluations of untested program (where little is known about the effectiveness of the program in a particular Ugandan context); or replication of a program ( where the program can be scaled up or can be applied in a different setting); . strategically relevant ( program covers, or could be expanded to cover, a large number of people; or could generate substantial savings, and Influential (the results can be used to inform key policy decisions). All projects seeking funding must be intrinsically linked to the impact evaluation of the practical and integrated achievement of more than 25% of the UN SDGs . To this end, for the next five, Community SWEEP is seeking funding to a tune of US $500,000 annually to support Sixteen (16) SDG Theme-based window evaluation projects in each of Ugandan Four Regions (Central, Northern, Eastern and Western Ugandan) . Interested applicants will submit expressions of interests and provide short descriptions of proposed impact evaluations in an initial expression of interest. Community SWEEP will request teams whose expressions of interests (EOI)are selected to submit a full impact evaluation proposal.

Only legally registered organizations, and consortia of registered organizations not individuals, may apply. Organizations may submit more than one EOI and may be included on more than one EOI. They should, however, have the capacity to implement any and all grants awarded to them under the window. Researchers may be included in multiple EOI applications, but must indicate in writing that they are available and able to carry out fully all of the stated time commitments concurrently in the case of multiple awards. Applicants will have to include separate budgets for (1) implemenation of the innovative direct service delivery using the “Community SWEEP integrated service delivery approach“ and (2) a budget for an "Independent Impact Evaluation " of the innovation.

The Community SWEEP requires funding to a tune of US$500,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies annually for five years, to support Africa NGOs, charities and private sector organizations to innovate better ways of achieving the UN Goals in poorest parts of Uganda. Through a competitive process, it will fund Ugandan projects that focus on innovative and cost effective ways of achieving at least more than 25% of the UN goals while applying the Community SWEEP Functional Integrated Service delivery Approach.

Applicant organizations will have to demonstrate measurable improvements in the quality of services delivered as well as increased numbers of those who access and benefit from those services. It is expected that the Community SWEEP RBF Innovative will contribute to the realization of up to 80% of the UN Goals benefiting up-to 10 million Ugandans over a period of five years via capacity building ,service delivery, and information dissemination.

Community SWEEP looks at a RBF Innovation as :

  • Offering new ways of applying, adapting or developing an existing initiative;
  • Applying a proven approach, for the first time, in a particular country or area;
  • Developing ideas that come from populations and involving them in project implementation;
  • Using, Results Based Financing (RBF) models- that lead to multiple outcomes and impacts for the poor and vulnerable;
  • Finding sustainable solutions that lead to long-lasting change;

  • Demonstrating the impact of new and existing innovative models so the results can be shared.
  • Interested applicants will submit expressions of interests and provide short descriptions of proposed impact evaluations in an initial expression of interest. Community SWEEP will request teams whose expressions of interests are selected to submit a full impact evaluation proposal.
