In the Community SWEEP Programming context, we distinguish between the concepts of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. While most Global efforts focus on promoting entrepreneurship among the youth to address the employment problem, In the Community SWEEP context, we go two steps ahead by ;1) “promoting social entrepreneurship” in contrast to the “ the profit –motivated Entrepreneurship”-as means of solving social problems in an integrated and sustainable manner by applying business principles , and generating revenue from some of its activities for sustainability purposes; and ;2) emphasizing that a social entrepreneur does do not necessarily need to be a youth. The Community SWEEP Programme aims at the formation of several categories of social entrepreneurs (SWEEPreneurs) whether youth, couples (Co-SWEEPreneurs) , family, business, community-based and faith Based Organizations, retired professions, specialized professions, Diaspora Afripreneurs and other categories, to contribute to realization of the Community SWEEP Programme Vision, Mission and Goal. .

Sustainability in the Community SWEEP context means that the solution will address the root cause of problem, with the goal of alleviating the problem rather than providing short term relief, therefore creating more consumers and citizens who are self-sufficient and not dependent. The solution is therefore the “social innovation”, that will be more effective, efficient, and sustainable in contrast to the current solutions and for which the value created accrues primarily to society as a whole rather than private individuals. The “social innovation” does not necessarily need be a product or process - it can be an idea, a principle, legislation, a social movement, an action, or a combination of more than one of those.

Together with resource-supporting International and Ugandan partners, the Community SWEEP Programme will from time to time identify and fund innovative SWEEPreneurs ideas that aim at practically achieving more than a quarter(25%) of the 17- Community SWEEP Mission (UN) goals.
